| I am going to post something on here that touched me. My friend Nicole wrote something on MySpace that got my mind thinking. I thought that i would share it with you. Here it is:
Sitting back as an observer of everyone's life has got it good points and bad points. I sit at my computer desk in my apartment at college and reflect on my life, my friends' lives, and the lives of people I only know through Myspace. Several people on my friend's list have recently posted bulletins about different people who have passed away asking for us to pray for their families and the deceased. It amazes me that there is so much destruction in the world, self destruction included, through car accidents, war, young people dying, eating disorders, suicide, depression, abuse, murder, stealing, lieing, betrayal, and self-infliction in the world and yet, you still have to sit back and think, Is there really a God? Why would a loving and compassionate God allow such things? But then again, you walk outside during sunset and look up at the sky and see the most beautiful sky you have ever seen, each day it looking similiar and yet different and even more beautiful than the day before. You walk outside on a rainy, drowsy day (like today) and its pure darkness, but if you look hard enough you can see one hole in the clouds with light shining through. You can walk past the same buildings every day, but if you just take the extra second to look around you will find magnificent things in nature that only a loving and compassionate God will allow us to see, smell, and hear. Flowers, trees, birds, bunnies, sunlight, rain, friends gathering, people laughing, disabled people finding their way on their own...such amazing sights. Horrible things in the world often make me wonder why God would do this to us, but then I think about all the wonderful things He has given us and I conclude that he allows us to suffer and feel pain so that we can appreciate ad experience the highs that much more and truly be grateful for them. I am incredibly greatful for my sight, my hearing, my ability to touch, my ability to smell, and my ability to walk because those things allow me to experience things other people cant. So the next time you are wondering where God is...look around and you will see Him in everything you look at. I hope you get to experience this much happiness and contentment as I am feeling right now. Walk outside during a sunset and snap a photo so you can remember that moment forever. This is a sunset that I took on Monday while at Oak Glen with DJ...how can God not exist?
Goodnight. Peace! |
